The Norse gods ruled the lands of snow and ice to the north of the world. Now, after more than a thousand years, the Norse underworld and one of the most famous artifacts of Norse mythology is close to being discovered - Thor’s legendary hammer.
Far below the surface of the Mediterranean Sea in an ancient ruin guarded by a deadly kraken, Lara finds proof of the fabled hammer and begins her perilous and exciting quest to find it. The hammer is thought to had the power to level mountains and even destroy the gods. Now the journey to find the hammer before it falls into the wrong hands and obliterates entire civilizations becomes Lara’s most important mission.
Lara swings, climbs and bounds stylishly back onto our consoles in this new action-adventure – Tomb Raider: Underworld. Exploring the regions, such as Thailand, Mexico and the frozen islands of the Artic, Lara discovers each location’s own underworld. These different areas hold clues and unique items that will aid Lara to eventually find the hammer of the god of thunder. Utilizing the objects found within the areas will let you discover new paths to explore. Each underworld holds intricate puzzles within a wide, interactive environment letting you have free rein on how you choose to solve the area.
For this new mission, Lara’s been fitted with a new range of combat options and a cool new inventory. Using the new combat options, you can either choose: to pacify or kill your target, target multiple foes at once with the new dual-target system and while your suspended with one hand the you can be taking out enemies with the other. The new inventory includes an active sonar map that creates an image of Lara’s surroundings, a grappler that allows Lara to run on walls and rappell. Lastly, Lara has acquired an all-terrain motorbike that can travel over the harsh weather conditions that you’ll encounter along your global travels. But, if all else fails, she’ll still have her trusty dual pistols to take out anyone or thing that stands in her way.
This new game sounds like a great new adventure for Lara and will be released by Eidos from November across many format for all to enjoy.
