Unsolved Crimes Preview
In the crime-ridden streets of New York a series of disappearances have been happening, but now Betsy Blake a glamorous model has disappeared. A loner is the prime suspect in this case. The regular cops are stumped, and so they call you in. You’re a rookie newly recruited into the Homicide Division. The disappearance of Betsy has unnerved the whole force as the series of disappearances are slowly bringing New York to its knees. Can you crack the case and figure out the meaning of all these unsolved disappearances? Will you find Betsy and bring her back safe and sound? This Autumn you get the chance.
Empire Interactive, a leading publisher of interactive entertainment software in the UK, brings us a brand new crime mystery ready to quench the thirst of those problem-solving and analytical minds.
Unsolved Crimes uses the unique combination of a character driven adventure game, the thrills of an action game and the mental challenges of a 3D crime investigation. These three gaming elements gives the player a unique gameplay experience allowing them to be fully immersed in the streets of New York via the two DS screens.
This game provides the player with eight independent cases to solve across a diverse and fully interactive environment, a story-driven action game (which runs throughout the game), point and click crime investigation, crime quiz, shootouts and action car chases! A little bit of everything to interest all types of gamers.
The innovative use of the Nintendo DS stylus will also allow you to trace marks, routes and memos on suspicious items discovered at crime scenes, all allowing you to move closer to solving the kidnapping mystery.
This new DS game sounds like an amazing play. My only concern is that the writers have used the typical “damsel in distress” model. So here’s another game where the female is the weak character of the story. Isn’t anyone else sick and tired of these types of female characters? It would be great if Betsy Blake turned out to be the master mind behind all the disappearances and she’s now left her glamorous life of modeling to fully live out her life as her alter ego Betsy “The Breaker” Blake.
Hey, I can hope can’t I? Nevertheless, this sounds like a great game and one I can’t wait to play.
