Square Enix, the studio whose fame has been mostly built upon the popular game series’ Final Fantasy and Dragon Quest, is now branching off to develop another popular title close to the hearts of all us 80s born gamers.

          With the release of Space Invaders Get Even, Square Enix shows us that this Japanese based company has a lot more to offer the gaming world than their usual titles.  Following the great success that Frontier Developments have had with LostWinds, Square Enix has elected to develop this title as an exclusive WiiWare download.  With marketing costs cut down by this new way to distribute games you can be sure that all the big players in the games industry will also have a title out via this method very soon.

          It’s been thirty years since the original Space Invaders game was brought into the public eye.  Since then it has been so popular that new industry hopefuls are spewing out their own versions of this great entertainment feat in order to help themselves gain a foot hold into the fastest expanding industry to date.

          In this new galaxy quest, the roles have been reversed.  For no longer do you try and stop the evil aliens that threaten to destroy you by dropping their missiles onto your shields, you now play as the aliens where the fate of the world rest in your hands..or claws..or whatever you have!

          Yes, in this action-packed invasion the player is in command of an entire army of Space Invaders attempting to overthrown humanity.  There are now five unique attack styles to aid any battle situation that you get thrown into.  Choose either: Shot, Homing, Burst, Drill and Hopping.

Prepare to wage war against the might of earth’s greatest weaponry including tanks, battleships, fighter planes, fortified buildings and attacking helicopters (not forgetting the Bosses!) over seven environments.  To see how you and your alien troops fared in comparison to others playing on this title, you can upload your scores via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection and battle for the world domination’s highest score!
