Calling all Halo fans! (Spoiler alert for Halo 3)
E3 2011 will be marked down in history for Halo fans worldwide. Not only have we seen more of Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary but we also have proof of the production of Halo 4.
At the latest E3 we were shown glimpses of what to expect in the next instalment of the Halo franchise. Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, for those who don't know, is a complete remake of the first Halo game released on the original xbox with a few changes. During the campaign, the game runs off two engines simultaneously, the original Halo engine and also a remastered graphics engine with it which highly enhances the effect of the scenery and enemies etc. Those of you who can remember the original and how the enemies used to look will be blown away with the amount of detail put into the way they look. One of the biggest features that's been put into this title is the 'Classic Mode' during the campaign, which seemed to cause a bit of excitement. Basically during gameplay on the campaign if you switch to classic mode, you can give yourself a blast from the past and play the game exactly as it was on the original xbox with the same graphics and everything. A good point about this is that you can be in the middle of a battlefield, switch to classic mode and see all of the enemies convert back to their block shaped selves. In reference to the multiplayer side of the game, it'll be running on the same engine as Halo: Reach, with new maps along with some of the old favourites (re-mastered obviously).
It's said that Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary will be released on November 15th this year, which is why they've added the 'Anniversary' to the title because it's being released EXACTLY 10 years after the original was released. This is definately one to look forward to.
So now, the part you've all been waiting for. Think back to the events of Halo 3, and hearing those last famous words from Master Chief "Wake me, when you need me"....well take a guess at who gets woken up! That's right, we now have some proof that Chief will be hitting our consoles once again in what's said to be Halo 4, the beginning of a new Halo trilogy! It couldn't be more of a rude awakening, as we see Chief fly out of his cryogenic sleep to the sound of Cortana screaming out for him as the Frigate starts falling apart around them. Not much else has been revealed but i'll be sure to keep an eye out for any more information that pops up. Definately one to watch out for.
