Saints Row 2 Review
Now i know that Saints Row 2 has been out for quite a while now, but i recently rediscovered it and realized that it is actually a great game. People usually compare Saints Row 2 to Grand Theft Auto but they are almost completely different.
Gta is a very serious, realistic game, where as Saints Row 2 is very much the opposite of this, it is very comedic and unrealistic game in every way.
When you get into it Saints Row 2 has a very deep, compelling and funny story which continues from the original Saints Row,
You play the same character from the first game but some past events mean that you can recreate your player, with a vast amount of options you arnt going to get bored of the character customization anytime soon. In the first game you are introduced to a gang called the 3rd street saints, and you carry on as the leader of this gang, this means you get to do everything that a gang leader could do, like customizing your crib and recruiting your homies for missions.

Yes you can dual wield
At the start you wake up from a five year comma, you would understand from the end of the first game why this is but i wont spoil it for you if you haven't played it yet, once you wake up you realize that you are on an island and your only hope of getting of is help from a stranger who seems to be the only person other than you who knows who the 3rd street saints are. This is because while you were in your comma the 3rd street saints fell apart, this is where ultor came in and fixed up stilwater, which is the city in which you play. In the first game ultor was a simple clothes store, but they quickly become a major corporate company which looks after and protects the city. So when you get to the main island you are basically tasked with getting the saints up and running, and it goes on from there.
There are three main gangs and then the ultor corporation to take down, there are about fifteen to twenty missions in the taking down of each gang, this means a lot of gameplay. Then after that there are countless side missions and mini games to take part in which are brilliant fun. These include fight club and insurance fraud, the good thing is that in Saints Row 2 volition inc decided to add co-op which you can play the whole game through with a friend, or just mess around blowing stuff up which is all ways better when you do it with a friend. The cool thing is that to be able to play the missions you need to earn respect, to do this you need to play the mini games, or you could just create havoc on the city but it is a lot quicker to do the mini games, on each one there is 6 levels which progressively get harder, so you wont be getting bored anytime soon.

The customization in this game is crazy you can change almost everything from you crib to your car or motorbike, you can also buy a whole wardrobe of clothes and even get plastic surgery if you are not happy with the way you character looks, the character customization is impressive because it allows you to make any one you want, i tried making some celebrities like Bruce Willis and Eminem. It is quite surprising who you can make.
There are a few problems with the game, there are a lot of glitches in it, which could of easily of been cleared up when the game was being finished and polished, this is like when im in the cut scenes a few times the game has frozen and ive had to reboot the system, also in the cut scenes when you sit down the furniture has spasms and goes all over the place.
I also found glitches in the co-op, where when i get in a car with a partner my body stays behind on my partners screen but on mine im in the car driving. These can often get in the way of the game, but i oversee them because of the great gameplay of the game.
The multiplayer is also a fun experience, you get to create a separate player for online, and to buy new clothes to personalize your person you have to play different online matches to earn money, you can have up to 12 people on one map, this creates a fun and furious game when you get a hold of the minigun and let it loose on your opponents. I think this game is now very overlooked as it is quite old but i think that it is better than a lot of the new games like Call of duty modern warfare 2 and others like that.
Most reviewers have gave this game a 7.5 but i think this is sorely underrated, i would give this game an 8.5 maybe even a 9.0.
